The black-clothed bodyguard remained silent. “Is being this direct really okay? He hasn’t left yet,” he thought to himself.
Sang Cai closed the lid and looked at Tong Sui, who still had his hands empty. “What about his?”
The black-clothed bodyguard replied, “Our young master said that everyone present, except for him, has a gift.”
Tong Sui was taken aback; he had never been so blatantly targeted before.
“What do you mean?” Sang Cai retorted. “Are you giving gifts or trying to make us uncomfortable? Well, I don’t want it then; take it back and let your young master keep it as a collectible.”
Tong Sui hurriedly pressed down on his hand. “Just take what he gives you. A fool doesn’t take a bargain, and the things he gave me are things I usually don’t use.”
“You’re right,” Sang Cai scoffed. “Our Sui Bao is born beautiful, with fair, translucent skin and a natural fragrance. He won’t need these things.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a soft chuckle rang out.
Everyone turned to see Zhong Yi had somehow come upstairs from below, his sunglasses tucked into the collar of his shirt. “You two are the cleaners here, right? Perfect, clean this room for me; I’ll be staying here.”
Tong Sui: …
Sang Cai: …
The two exchanged glances and saw the same expression on each other’s face.
“Where’s the nearest eye clinic?”
“And I don’t like sharing a room with others,” Zhong Yi continued, “It would affect my billion-dollar job the next day.”
Tong Sui couldn’t help but chuckle. To avoid being rude by laughing in front of him, he turned his head and bit his lip, his shoulders shaking as he suppressed his laughter.
Zhong Yi frowned. “What are you laughing at? Don’t you believe what I’m saying?”
No one dared to openly question him due to his family’s wealth, yet this person had the audacity to laugh at him — twice!
“I don’t,” Tong Sui replied. “I just think if you care that much about your job, you should probably withdraw from this show.”
“My affairs are none of your concern,” Zhong Yi snapped. “Get off my bed quickly.”
“This room isn’t labeled with your name,” Tong Sui countered. “The rooms are assigned based on the order of arrival; this room belongs to us now.”
Zhong Yi’s brows furrowed; how could someone be so ungrateful? “How much do you want to change rooms?”
Tong Sui raised an eyebrow. “Are you really going to start throwing money at me?”
Zhong Yi frowned, “What?”
“Isn’t that how it works on TV shows?” Tong Sui teased. “Are you going to write me a check?”
Zhong Yi was speechless. “Who carries those kinds of things with them?”
“Oh, so you don’t have one?” Tong Sui feigned disappointment. “Then I can’t switch rooms with you; I only take checks.”
Zhong Yi: …
The comments began flooding in:
— So it turns out rich people don’t carry checks around? What about black cards? I’m curious.
— Zhong Yi is so rude, calling my darling a cleaner and trying to steal a room; only my darling is this nice, refusing his money and gifts while also giving him an out.
— Upvote for my darling! Sui Bao, let your mom hug you!
— If Zhong Yi were a bit friendlier, I might reluctantly accept this pairing, but with his attitude now, goodbye!
Zhong Yi saw that Tong Sui and the person beside him remained unfazed and had no choice but to tour the other two vacant rooms. Though the sizes were similar, they clearly lacked the beautiful views and light.
“What kind of place is this? There’s no style whatsoever!” he complained.
The black-clothed bodyguard whispered, “Young Lord, don’t forget? This quarter’s venue is sponsored by our company.”
Zhong Yi: …
In the end, he had to settle for a room that was temporarily unoccupied. The black-clothed bodyguards cleaned up, made the bed, and even replaced the sheets with limited edition luxury brands.
Sang Cai chuckled at Tong Sui. “He probably even wears designer underwear.”
Tong Sui: “Pfft.”
After Zhong Yi’s room was organized, the group of black-clothed bodyguards finally completed their mission and successfully retreated.
Night gradually descended.
Tong Sui had already tidied up his room when he heard the system prompt: [The protagonist and main attacker, Qin Xiuxian, has arrived.]
Then a bright male voice echoed from downstairs, “Is he upstairs? Okay, I’ll go have a look.”
Tong Sui turned to Sang Cai and said, “There’s a new guest.”
Sang Cai, applying a facial mask, nonchalantly nodded.
“Are you not interested? What if he’s your type?”
“Oh honey,” Sang Cai turned to him, “Isn’t my favorite type right here?”
Tong Sui’s face turned red, and he stopped talking.
He silently opened the door, just in time to bump into Qin Xiuxian, who was carrying luggage. “Hello, Qin Xiuxian, you’re also a guest this season, right?”
Qin Xiuxian was dressed in a sharp black t-shirt, with a darker skin tone and a strong yet calm appearance – a quintessential “1” type at first glance.
The comments erupted:
— Love this skin tone!
— The air seems so filled with hormones now.
— Why does my darling look good with everyone? How am I supposed to choose? Maybe I’ll just go for all of them!
Tong Sui said, “Yes, you can choose a room now.”
Seeing someone in his room, Qin Xiuxian casually knocked on the furthest room.
The one who opened the door was Zhou Siyuan; they exchanged simple greetings, and Qin Xiuxian pushed his luggage inside.
This season, five of the six guests had already arrived, and not long after, the sound of a door opening echoed from downstairs.
Jiang Ciyuan, dressed in a simple, understated handmade suit that highlighted his broad shoulders, slim waist, and long legs, came in, looking somewhat fatigued, as if he had just finished a long day at work. However, his aura remained undiminished.
The comments instantly flooded the screen:
— So handsome!
— He’s just like the aloof CEO from my imagined novels!
